Come And Dine
On April
10, 2000 I went to a Job Finding Service. I was sent to a Christian
School to apply for a pre-school teacher. After filling out the
application, I was sitting in the hall waiting for someone to interview
me when an eight-year-old girl approached me. She looked at me and
asked, “Do you know God?” I turned to her and said, “What do you
mean?” She then said, “I mean if you were to die today, where would
you go?” I told her that if I were to die today I would go to Hell.
She started
crying and then said, “Let’s pray because I want you to be my best
friend in Heaven!” So I started to cry and then I go to bow my head
and she said, “NO!!! Not like that, like this.” The little girl got
down on her hands and knees and started praying. I started to cry even
harder and got down on my hands and knees and start praying. Before I
knew it I was screaming to the Lord to save my soul and to forgive me of
my sins. After we were both done praying I got up and my burden was
gone, all I felt was peace across my whole body.
She took my hand
and asked, “Do you feel any different?” I smiled and looked her in
her eyes and replied, “I am going to be your best friend in Heaven!!!!”
We both started crying and hugged. We both turned around and to my
surprise the whole school, staff and students were on their knees
praying along with us. As I was leaving the building she came up to me
and asked, “Can we be friends on earth too?” I said, “Of course.”
She handed me a piece of paper that has her phone number and full name
on it.
On my second
attempt to leave the building the Dean came to me and shook my hand
saying, “We would be proud to have you as one of our staff!!”
Now I have a
bunch of new brothers and sisters. This little girl will always be in my
heart and mind. The little girl told me one last thing before I left.
She is dying of Aids. Please keep her in your prayers. Her name is
Christine.
